The User Builds section on EliteMacx86 forum is for posting your Hardware Builds which means that the build is running macOS without any issue.

The build description should be written in English only. Next to that, you must have used a valid method for the Bootable media i.e. createinstallmedia and follow the EliteMacx86 guides. The 3rd party apps are not supported and the questions related to those tools will be removed.

If you are working on a build which is under WIP (Work In Progress), you can post it under appropriate guides section. Once your build is completed, you need to add [Success] as a prefix in the Thread Title and remove [WIP].

To post such work in progress guide, please use this forum and post under Guides Sub forum. If you have a question that is not related to a specific user's build, then post your queries in the appropriate EliteMacx86 Forum Sections:

Instructions
Here are the instructions for posting your User Build in the EliteMacx86 User Builds forum section.

Sections of Your Build:
  • Title of your Build (A picture with your System Components or the final build)
  • List of Components (components title and Amazon and/or Newegg links)
  • Comments
  • Summary
  • What Works
  • What Does Not Work
  • Bootable Media Creation
  • BIOS/UEFI Settings
  • Installation Process
  • Post Installation steps

  • Benchmarks (Optional)
  • Media (Optional)
  • Configuration Files (Optional)

The above sections are explained in details (see below).

Tips:
The description of the build must be clear and easy to understand.
Use good language style.
Do not use lots of fonts or formatting.
Do not use lots of images/Thumbnails to describe each step. Use image when it's necessary to explain something.
Writing a build description takes time, we suggest you to use WYSIWYG editor which is available on EliteMacx86 forum.
If we find all the necessary components, your build maybe featured in the main page of EliteMacx86 forum.

Thread and Build Description Title:
The Thread title and the Build Description title should be the same. The title must contain three major components of your Build/System i.e. Motherboard,CPUand GPU.
These three components are the important components which is required for building any System. This is what users are looks for. You can also use any name along with the Title such as:
EliteMacx86's Budget Build or Coffee Lake/KabyLake/Skylake/Broadwell/Haswell/Ivy bridge/Sandy Bridge Build. By using these names, it gives emphasize to your Build.

Build Picture:
This an example of your final Build, typically your PC Case. You can also include the System Components that are including the PC Case. You can use an image from the manufacturer's site or can directly upload it to your post. If you use an image from the manufacturer's site if the page is updated and as the result, the link can be broken so make sure to re-link the images.

Note :
  • The image should be aligned in Center.

Components:
List all the components used in your build. The components will include two categories. First, the components you bought for this specific build. Secondly, the components which you already own. You need to provide a complete description of each components with enough information which will help other users to get the same component. A typical component will have Manufacturer’s name, model, version (if any) and a URL to the Amazon where the components can be ordered.

Comments:
The comments section can be used to describe the followings:
Purpose of the build.
The reason to choose the specific parts, model or the manufacturer components.
If you want, you can also create subsection in this section.

Summary:
This is a short summary of the build which specifically describes what works and what that doesn't work.

Bootable Media Creation:
This section will include the process to create the Bootable USB for your build. You can link to the creation guide or can write on your own.

Note :
  • Please note that the only valid method to create the Bootable USB is createinstallmedia method. No other method should be used as per the forum rules.

BIOS/UEFI Settings:
As the name describes, this section will include the BIOS or the UEFI settings for the build.

Installation:
This section is to describe the installation method for a specific build. Some systems require additional procedures/steps. You can include them in "Installation Notes".

Post Installation:
After installation, Post Installation needs to be performed on the build to fix the rest of the hardware and to achieve the fully functional build. You need to describe the methods taken to complete the post installation steps for your build. Some systems require additional steps. You can include them in "Post Installation Notes" or "Notes". Typically, the post installation includes enabling boot from the system drive, Graphics, Network, Audio, and USB.

Benchmarks:
This is an optional section to post the benchmarks for your build. If you wish, you can post the benchmark results. If you're unsure how to benchmark your build, you can find a thread in the forum.

Updates:
If there's any update or edits for you build, you can include those here. This will help other members to find the changes and improvements of your system. You can either use MM/DD/YYY format for this purpose or can also use 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on.

This is also an optional section to attach your media or the attachments. You can attach the final build pictures, desks or the screenshots. Use Attach files option for this purpose. You can find this option in the editor.
